This is where everyone can help improve the HCA! It's easy!

With the recent forum upgrades some areas are currently disabled or being reworked as most people that use the forums regularly are finding out. One of the areas that was in need of a desperate update for a while is the links section. It is a massive task to search out pet supply stores, shell shops, food stores and any other websites related hermit crab supplies. Not only will this help all the awesome people behind the scenes at the HCA, it will also help everyone by having more resources.

Here's How To Help
All you need to do is post a link and brief description of a website. Keep in mind they should be to pet supply stores, sea shell shops, hermit crab food store or any other websites pertaining to hermit crabs in this thread. Ebay and Etsy shops are allowed.

I will attempt to go through this topic several time a week and add all links to this post in order save everyone time of searching post after post.

I also noted HCA member shops with an M. If I am missing a member's store let me know and I will add it.

Update. I managed to sort though all the current HCA links and add several ebay, and etsy stores that I have used it the past. I noted broken links at the bottom of the links section.

If anyone has more links please post them.

I shut down a while back, so The Hermit Crab Garden is defunct.

Alaska hermit shut down but she's still selling moose poop on etsy under wolfnipplechips.

I've added a good bit of Etsy food shops. I've been trying to search out more but keep looping around to the original ones already posted. Up to over 40 links between what we had and things I found. I'm not sure how in depth to go with supply stores. I'm still waiting to get some feedback from people with more places. Nothing yet.

I guess it doesn't hurt to let this as an ongoing things then possibly update links every 6 months or so.

what about DesignzByMeg on Etsy - climbing nets made from hemp. I didn't see that on the list. Was thinking of ordering one soon and trying to find all the "net" options out there.

Thanks for the encouragement. So far no one posted any new places. I don't know how many people even use these links. Most people just post where can I buy shells then someone tells them. Not that I go hunting of fishing but most people would be terrible hunters! LOL

I searched quite a bit at first and found a good bit of new stuff. Then each new search kept going back to what I already listed. I sort of hit a wall with finding more stuff.

It was hard finding resources in Canada, but here's what I've come across:

Organic Sphagnum Moss - Terra Greenhouses (contact your local store. Vaughan location confirmed ) [ONTARIO ONLY]
*Note: Only USA Home Depot sells sphagnum moss, not Canada. Canada Lowes, Rona and Home Depot do NOT sell organic sphagnum moss, or sphagnum moss period (only peat moss - make sure you watch the packaging).

THG Heat Tape - Cornel's World is the official distributor, and can crimp the rivets with power cord for you. You buy the tape by the foot (great for larger tanks). Located in ALBERTA, but ships CANADA-WIDE.
All Reptiles is a reseller, and sell per foot (located in ONTARIO, ships CANADA-WIDE)

It's been a while since I did any updates. Today I added DesinzByMeg on etsy. I also added Canadian retailers, Cornel's World, All Reptiles and Shrimp Fever.

I left Terra Greenhouses and Finatics off the list since you can't order online.

Can we add from Facebook groups? Canadian Chubby Crab is a Canadian crab food store. I just ordered from there, her stuff is amazing and it wasn’t too bad for shipping to US. I know someone asked for a Canadian crab food store awhile ago.

I'm not of facebook. When I try to look at something on there I get a giant register or sign in pop up that blocks most of the information. I have no good way to try and validate the pages.
