canadian shell stores?!

i'm trying to find shells for my three guys (girls? i have no idea, they don't come out far enough) and all the pet stores that i've gone to sell only painted shells. i've been to petland, petsmart and petcetera, and they were all painted. i've also gone to walmart and checked out the shell baskets to no avail. michaels is one my mom dropped in, and said she didn't find any, but i'm gonna head over there myself soon. i've looked online and was about to place an order on naples, but they don't take canadian orders. i really need to find a place that i can buy shells in canada!!

the only good place I've been able to find shells is micheals, the one near me always has big bags of murex shells and usually has some good mixed bags too. The also have fabulous jumbo shells for when your crabs get to be about the size of a coconut

Unfortunately mine are all too small to capitalize on that though

Are you in Western or Eastern Canada? I'm assuming Western since you mentioned Petland, store stock changes from place to place. The petsmarts and superpets carry normal and painted shells and the petceteras don't even have hermit crab stuff

hey, i went to michaels today to check myself andthey have half an isle with nothing but shells. i have no idea what my mom was talking about. they had amazing shells in there, and i just about broke the bank buying things to put in my crab tank. crat stores are a dangerous thing for me to enter. thanks thalia for the reply! i live in western canada, calgary alberta to be exact... i'm sure glad i found some shells!

That's weird! The first time I went to Michaels to look for shells I found none, but the next time I dropped in there was half an isle side of shells! Maybe the first time you look they always hide them?! Keep us crabbers from going back

yeah it really depends on the day, I went in for the first time (before I got the PP's) and they had bags of turbos, now that I have PP's I haven't seen them since, but they always have bags of murex. I also saw some beautiful fox shells one time but haven't seen them since. You also have to check in a couple of spots, I found shells in two different spots in the store last time.

I found alot of my crab shells at Micheals too. Also, if you like the polished tapestry turbos and such that you see on Naples site, I found that bead stores for making jewlery and such usually carry them.
