Anyone ordering LHC crabs for 12/14/11?

lol i wouldn't be surprised if they are not shipped on the 14th but i'm really not in a hurry this time. I was thinking to myself I really need to go shell shopping for the new guys lol. But I dont want to be ordering for smalls until i really am sure they are smalls. but if not before definitely after I get them I have to place an order somewhere! Did we ever figure out what type of shells blueberries like? I think I might go window shopping

It doesn't say they will ship "on the 14th" it says they won't be ready to ship until approximately dec 14. That means any day she wants after. Lol

Fate- It say they will be ready to ship approximately December 14th. Which is a Wednesday and she usually ships on wed but that statement could mean after, on, or before. Who knows!
I'm not buying shells until after they come either since I want to know what exact sizes I need, I have some more supplies I have to get for a 3rd tank and because with Christmas and my sons bday on the 9th I really don't have the extra cash. I think I have enough shells for the moment! Thankfully my family gives me money for my bday and Christmas so I'm going on a crabby shell and supply spree after!!! Gotta love grandma!!
I don't remember what blueberry shell info I found but the shell guide on here says certain ones and It might be a good idea to google images blues and see what they are wearing in the pics.
I'm not in a rush to receive them any way because I still have a lot of work to do finishing the room and setting up the other 40 gal. Also like I said some more supply shopping to do so that I can set up the tank. Not to mention the 10 gallon iso I gave to set up along with it! So I will have 3 tanks and an iso. Wow I'm nuts!!!!
However I will be upset if it's long past December 14th which may be a possibility I wouldn't put it past LHC! You just never know. I'd like to get them before Christmas but I also worry about the postal service being so busy with the holidays and I want our special deliveries to be handled with care!!!! I more so want them to arrive safely and be healthy then be on time!!
This is a lot of work and money around Christmas time but honestly I couldn't pass it up!!! It will really make my Christmas this year!! Especially since my son and myself had a tough one last year. I just hope I get it all done in time and everything works out money wise to get this tank up!

This is what the order confirmation says
"**IF YOU ORDERED EXOTIC HERMIT CRABS.. They will be ready to ship on or about December 14th."
leads me to believe she is shooting for the 14th. but we do not know what that date is dependent on. as i said before she may not even have the crabs yet and the date is based off her receiving healthy mite-free crabs on time that don't need a long recover time. Or everything may be ready to go and she is just waiting to gather a large amount of orders before shipping. It also could be dependent on the weather. If NY is in the middle of a snow storm I doubt she is shipping.
The holiday shipping scares me. But hopefully with the express shipping and live animals stamped on the side they will get good treatment regardless. The weather isn't too bad here in December but towards the end of the month and January it starts getting bad. Hoping they arrive before than.
But no rush. I still need to set up the 10 iso and install heating for it and get it stable but I have a few weeks. I'm still waiting on the 75 gal and trying not to be pushy about it since i am getting it for free.

I agree zoey. Although I know from looking at older post, another person who lived in upstate new York received her order during a snow storm, but since she lived in NY and this was prob a while ago it may be a diff story. The crabs were warm and arrived healthy but I would rather not chance it esp in you case since you live future away.

We do not have snow storms here, in fact a good bit of the people down here have no idea what real snow looks like. when i say bad weather i mean like in the 40s. I've been getting real excited. I think i'm more excited for the blueberry, aka Purples, than the indos. even living far away the crabs still got here within 24 hours. I believe they were shipped 4pmish and they were here before noon. Just hope they have a safe trip and no one loses them this time!! I can't go through that stress again!
I've been planning out the new tank. I can't until I can start working on it. The sow bug babies are getting big and still planning on working them into the tat but will probably need more. going to have a corner with a large piece of cork bark and maybe some leaf litter or just moss for the sow bugs. The other side I want to get the large bonsai petsmart has and a largish piece of drift. there is going to be an inground moss pit as that is a huge hit right now. something different i've been planning around an old large seashell i found on the beach when i was a little kid. of course shower caddies, coco-huts, and cholla. I just hope the tank will be big enough.

No live garuntee in the winter months but in order for the live garuntee you would had to pay shipping again any way. Many members have ordered in the winter and received healthy crabs. I don't live too far away so that played a role in why I ordered now. Also when I ordered in October they didn't have most of the crabs I wanted in stock.
