They are still small. Shell length round about 2-3 cm. The newest breedings are still tiny. Between 1-2 cm

In my web picture books are the latest pictures of both breedings
I try to update as often I could take good pics of them.

Your cage ( its hardly "CAGE" I just don't know what else to call it) is the most beautiful one I've seen so far since I started my adventure with hermit crabs (my son brought one home). It seems as though you have the set up that's the closest thing one can get to the real thing. I was just wondering if throughout the years if you have had any losses and if so is there anything you might have learned and if you were in the same situation what you would change about it. I have six and haven't had any losses so far. I just bought a used aquarium it had a crack that the pet store owner glued back together, I just put them in there to days ago but now its giving off this smell,I'm going to get them out of there as soon as possible but this will cause more stress. I'm so worried I just want all my crabs to live forever maybe that's unrealistic. I just can't bare the loss

Just showed my hermit-disliking husband your tanks with connecting tunnel:

Him: Is that what you want to do with your tank?
Me: No, that takes up too much space.
Him: Well....eventually when we have a bigger house you can!

I think it was the awesome tunnel that won him over; he's the kind of guy that thinks "If I'm gonna do something, I'm not just gonna do it right, I'm gonna do it way better than anyone else ever has!"

You tank setup is now what I'm working towards for one day! The baby hermits are the BEST! So adorable! It would be so amazing to have a hermit crab with you since it's birth! They really would be your babies!

A peice of glass (custom made to ensure it fits) and aquarium safe silicone.

A local glazier should be able to cut it for you. Or see if you can source your glass offline (after all if your tank is a foot wide, you want your glass piece to be a little under a foot to allow for silicone)...

sorry I was not here for a longer time...

@crabby1: I do have losses. Unfortunately a lot of losses
overall I had 56 adult LHCs since April 2009 till now. (The breedings are not counted here.)
25 died in this time. Mostly because of PPS/molting problem and overgrowding in the first years.
And I've learned:

- do not buy in strange shops nor online
- do not buy for "rescue" reasons (the shop will buy new one and so new hermits has to be 'rescued'. We've come full circle.)
- do not keep too much hermits in the tank. Even if the tank looks big enough for human eyes. The places to hide, dig and molt are important and not the "gallon per LHC".
- keep the tank, food and conditions as naturally as possible

First, check if your tank is big enough for a pool. Think about how to clean this pool.
Then search for a glazier. Think about stabilisation of the glass if you put it in sloped
