How do I know what sex my crabs are? I think I have two Purple clawed crabs, how long ( if cared for properly) will they live?

To determine the sex of your crabs is fairly easy. Although it is not really important since they cannot sucessfully breed in captivity.

What you are looking at here is a picture of a female crabs reproductive organs. So look for the genopore's to tell the differance.
You can read more about "sexing" your crabs at: http://www.hermit-crabs.com/

As far as how old will you crabs get. No one really knows. It is a factor of how well you take care of your crabs. The current record holder is a woman named Carol Ormes. She has owned the same two crabs for close two 27 years now. She raised them from small to jumbo. You can visit her web site at: http://www.geocities.com/hermit_crabs/carol/
