back to topic:

It seems that my Larvae project No 11 is successfully!

Today the first of the "Halloweenies" are on the land. It is day 37. In my first successfull experiment they get to land at day 42.

A second Halloweene came later. But he went back to the water.

You will find the picture to this Project No.11 here: https://picasaweb.google.com/1120608556 ... directlink

Now I keep my fingers crossed for more to get to land. And for their first and important moltung to transmoph to Land hermit crabs.
I am nearly 95% sure to have violas again.

I think I can say, that my latest experiment No 11 is successfully.

The first Megalopa which go on land 7 days ago is still alive! Here you can see it eating:

Some others are on land. I actually do not know how many. Round about 7 maybe.
And round about 30 are still in the water. Climbing, eating, chilling and shell-changing... hope they will make it all to land hermit crab stage!

Update can be found in my webalbum "Larvae Project No 11": https://picasaweb.google.com/1120608556 ... directlink

There was a mistake. The first one is 7 days on land, not 9 days. Sorry.

Curlz, do you end up selling these crabs to pet stores or something?
Judt curious as to what happens after breeding and raising them

Reggie2269, I do not know at the moment.
First they all have to come out of the water. Then they have to grow.
When they are big enough to be safe in an adult terrarium, I maybe give them away to some people where I am sure that they have a good running habitat.
With some conditions...

It's a lot of time and money (and not many babies in the end) to just give them away, especially to places like pet stores.
It's awesome that you've got another batch going! Way to go! I just love the tiny red bodies

One thing is for sure. I will never ever sell them to any pet shop or seller.
Only private.

I will not send them via mail. They habe to be picked up at my home.

Yes the tiny red bodies and the tiiiiny eyes are adorable. :)

Away from the CUTE babies...

how exactly did you construct your 25 gallon? It's amazing for such a little space compared to your large tank!
