I think Mlakers is saying that in order to get the water jug inside the tank you have to cut it short. The spacers will be placed on the side of the jug which used to be the bottom. In between the jug and the side of the tank to make the cut end of the jug fit tight.
Edit: if the top frame is removed I’d be worried the tank would bow out too much. But I don’t know for sure.
