Here's a video of one of my last 5, doing the hunting swim with his legs ready to attack!

And I have a boatload of new video's of all the old megalopa that died int he first attempt. Many shell shopping/wearing pics and video as well as standard swimming ones.

Here's a few examples;

I like shells!

The rest are in that same folder.

*hihi* I call this "Superman". They swimm like Superman flies :)

hm did I miss the link to the australien megalopa food?
Why is it so tiny?

The krill I am using is double size of megalopa and more. They pinch it while swimming over the ground...
And I checked the ingredients: no garlic or other stuff in it. hm too bad you only can buy something with garlic and stuff in it :(

Fingers still crossed for the 5.
I need fingers crossing for my actually 18 megalopa

Oh my fingers are crossed for your 18!!! I hope they make it.

And Ya in the "Some swimmers" video they are dong the superman swim with their arms straight out like you mention, but in the one where he's doing the "hunting mode" swim he's got his legs fully open. I love the superman swimming, lol.

I do feed them krill that's big big chunks and mysis shrimp that's around their same size. But Nat sent me some non garlic sinking betta food crumb from New Zealand. And it's tiny little bits but they find it on the floor. I couldn't find anything like this around here, or I just didn't find it yet.

No problem! I had a video of 3 megalopa hanging onto 1 krill al floating around the jar from the last attempt so mine love it too! But it fouls up the water so fast :(

1 left... and he's not looking great. Unless I get this one lone ranger onto land I don't think it's going to be happening. They never even bothered with the shells this time, it's like they were weak in every stage. They also didn't superman swim like the ones from the last attempt. They always swam with their legs spread out ready to grab.

I switch it up. They were so used to eating shrimp that they didn't look for the betta crumbs much, so I feed Krill, Mysis and the betta food crumbs every day. They go after the krill almost as soon as it goes in the water but I have to pass them the mysis or betta crumbs for them to even notice them.

I only get to feed maybe 3 times a day if I'm lucky. My family is still on vacation so there's a lot of days I'm not home most of the day and when I am I'm taking care of my kids and getting ready to go out again. So sometimes they would all be holding onto some food and I'd have to leave for 7-8 hours, and by the time I get home they have bacteria on them from the food breaking down around them. How did you girls fix that? just come back in another 30 mins and try to remove it again?

So I really hope the next time I get a chance it's during the fall or early spring cause summer/Christmas isn't easy for me and we have family obligations.

I feel a lot worse about the first batch because they were so healthy and it was just my mistakes and them eating each other. This time it's like they never had a chance genetically.
