WOW your crabitat is an inspiration! I love the connecting tube. Do you have a lot of the crabbies that go in it?

Your hermies are very cute by the way. :)

thank you @hertmicrabdanatic.
In these two terrarium(s?) are living 16 adult crabs.

the breedings are living seperately in an own smaler terrarium.

@sandra03: yes the can pass without any issues. Even the biggest one with a 4.33 inches "Pleuroploca trapezium" shell. :)

Wonderful tank! Beautiful hermies, Where were you able to find hermit's? I looked at a few pet stores while my husband and I were stationed there(in Baumholder) and i found nothing but water hermit crabs. I suppose i didn't look hard enough.

But again Congrats on the babies and on such a beautiful and well organized crabitat

Curlz lives in Germany :P Lot's of our international members have an easier time finding hermies :)
(pet stores sometimes hide away the hermies, try asking an employee. Or, since you're in the US, you could order them online from LHC or something, or even ask a mom and pop store if they could order them)

hi there,

oh, I have to search for "Baumholder". It's a small town near "Idar-Oberstein" and "Wiesbaden" :)

There are a some shops selling LHS. Most of them can be found in the bigger towns, like Cologne or Frankfurt. But in some cases you can find them in small shops which are selling reptiles. Some bigger pet shops and even in DIY markets you can find LHC here in Germany - with a little bit of luck. :)

I would just love to raise a baby hermit. :) Good luck with all your future breedings! <3
My hermit crabs, Michelle, Unnamed, Unnamed, and Peanut live in a 10 gal in my room.

right. The 13 breedings are still alive and they are growing faster as I thought.

I have tried to breed them again, but this try was not successful. I hope to do it again in january.

thank you, too @ aussieJJDude :)

seems all fine at the moment. A lot of larvae still alive. Only few died in the first 3 days. They are 6 days old now. And they have molt for the first time.
I hope that this try will be as good as the successfull one.
