Can Superworms hurt crabs?

Post by rml6f4 » Sun Jul 31, 2016 11:17 pm

I'm not sure if this is an emergency, but I guess it could be depending on what the answer is. I tried to feed my crabs some live Superworms as a treat and two of them managed to squiggle out of my tweezers and burrowed before I could get them out. Could this cause any issues? Is it a threat to molters? I'd rather not dig up 300 pounds of substrate for a couple of worms if there isn't an issue with this. Either way I'm done feeding them and I feel bad for trying in the first place :(

I don't think so. The crabs would probably get them before they really did anything.

They will probably go down and molt themselves into the adult beetle form... Also, Indo not think they are carnivorous.

Thanks for the responses! Sounds like the only thing I need to worry about it being grossed out by the beetles. That's a relief.
