I just noticed these extremely tiny white round bugs crawling on the glass of my tank today while I was recording Kino. I am paranoid about mites and regularly scrutinize by crabbies' eyes and joints to make sure they're are no white spots on them. Nothing on the crabs, only on the glass. Can I assume they're harmless?

Re: Tiny Tiny Mites
Yes, if they aren’t on the crabs by now they are most likely harmless.

Did you ever find out what these are? I just found tons on the outside and inside of my hermit crab tank, as well as on the table it was on, and a few here and there in the rest of the room. Ugh! Thanks so much for any help.

Re: Tiny Tiny Mites
They’re food mites, pretty harmless but can gross us (the humans) out. They naturally live in homes so it’s likely they’ll come back after getting rid of them.
EDIT: They like the crab tank because it’s humid and warm. I find adding springtails and/or isopods helps keep their numbers at bay by creating a competition for food between them. Just be careful about which species you chose if you decide to add isopods, some multiply at a rapid rate and can become quite annoying if you don’t have a system of removing the excess isopods.
