I was cleaning out the crabitat yesterday (just sifting the poop out and moving the sand around, adding more coco fiber) and I found a whole lot of these guys running around (I'll see if I can attach a picture). I think they're springtails, but I just wanted to make sure that they're not harmful. I've had this 65g for about a year now and this is my first time cleaning it out. Should I clean it more often to prevent these guys from taking over, or is there any way to prevent them? Thanks!

It kind of looks like a silverfish to me. But I dunno. Maybe get some other advice because I would not know how to get them out. (I'm fairly new to crabbing so I've never dealt with mites before). But I read that as long as they are around the food dish or in the substrate and not on the hermit crabs they shouldn't be harmful. They may even act as a cleanup crew!

That’s a silverfish. They’re harmless and live in our homes so I don’t think it’s worth trying to get rid of them permanently.
