So, I've look at all the photos of bugs on this forum but still can't figure out what I have. Maybe booklice?? Can anyone tell from this video? They are mostly in the food and on the cholla wood. I did see one crawling on one of my crabs shells but have not seen any onthe actual crabs. They don't jump or have wings.

Anyone know what they are, if they are harmful to my crabs and how to get rid of them?

Are they smaller than a pinhead? Looks long and tapered like a springtail to me.

Yep! :)

Those are the good kind of springtails that I like to see in my tanks. They will eat decaying matter and mold.

(I'm pretty sure they're springtails. I find then in decaying veggies in the garden, and they tend to be all over wild picked morel mushrooms as well.)

Oh, ok. So no need to worry or try to get rid of them? Of course they kind of gross me out but as long as their numbers don't get too out of control, I guess I can live with them. They aren't harmful to molters either?

I've never had trouble with them, and they've been in my crab tanks for at least four years. I also have them in my scorpion tanks and they've never bothered the babies.
