Mites????

Post by Pumpkincrab » Fri Apr 09, 2021 7:49 pm

Hello.
Today I noticed a bug or two on one of my crab's shells-
they appeared to be orangeish/whitish and small; looked like it was only on the shell, not on the crab.
I also saw some on my cork bark too.

Are they simple food mites or predatory mites?

Thank you

As long as they're not attached to the crab (like on the joints) they are harmless.

I have many food mites in both of my tanks. They frequently crawl on my hands when I do food changes, since they hang out on the dishes. I've never felt any of them bite me. I just shake them off into the trash with the old food lol.
