Questions about getting isopods

I am planning on getting some dwarf white isopods for my hermit crab tank, but I still have a few questions.
I have a separate tote that I got for my isopod enclosure, and I'm planning on setting up a isopod colony instead of putting them into the tank directly. The tote is plastic, and my the temperature of my house fluctuates from 60°F to 70°F. I just now realized I likely can't put a UTH on the back of a plastic tote... How can I keep the temperature high enough for them? Also, do they need air holes or anything? Will there be enough air flow with a closed lid? What food is the best for them, and what should I get for calcium? Can I feed them beetle jelly or is it only good for beetles? Also, I saw that leaf litter is needed as a top layer, and lots of people suggest boiling it. Is that okay for the leaves? After I have a breeding colony, and I add them to the tank, will it be necessary to add the leaf litter to my hermit crab tank as well? Or would they be fine with just like some kind of moss? And is it okay that the substrate will be different than the kind they have in their tote? Also, does anyone have any other general advice for isopod care that I should know? I want to make sure I'm taking care of them properly. Thank you! Sorry for all the questions, I just want to have a healthy colony!

Isopods will be fine with whatever substrate you use.

Both isos and crabs would love some leaf litter, but moss works too. Boiling leaves for sanitation works, as does freezing.

I don’t know what beetle jelly is made of, so I can’t offer any advice on that.
