roly polys from backyard

can i use roly polys from my backyard for my hermit crabs? do i need to anything to them if so?

It's recommended to breed them for a while until they get to their second or third generation, just in case the wild ones that were collected have been exposed to pesticides or other chemicals that won't be able to work itself from their bodies. The crabs will often snack on the isopods so they should be treated the same as potential food.

sorry 4 late reply but i have put 14 roly polys straight from my backyard into the tank… do i take them out

I would think that'd be difficult at this point. Id just let whats done be done and learn for the future :)
