I'm pretty sure they can live in the sand. I would keep a hidey log made of coconut or have some type of driftwood just incase they want to climb around.

We have such a dearth of rollie pollies at our house, I think I'm going to break down and order some from that worm guy online....what the heck was the name of that site?

I know I'll find it. When I do, I'll post it for you.

They've drowned in my pools... all of them. :( I still gotta get a way to keep 'em out of the pools.

I think I'm waiting until Christmas and doing an entire tank remodel (custom pools, etc).

Yeah, i guess i'll just have to hope that i get lots of them. and that they breed enough so the deaths don't affect the colony that much.

It's not that hard to find a lot in the wild. Just go into some woods, find a decaying log, look around and there's bound to be a colony. If you still twenty the colony won't be damaged (as long as it's a large colony).

Would 100 bugs be too many for a 26 gallon tank?

It might be a little too many, but I don't think it can do too much harm.

If you have a pool. No. They'll breed enough that the deaths could cancel itself out.....I think.

I've been lurking for a while and had a little laugh at those that cannot find them in the wild. I would love to get rid of them! They have attacked my pansies this year. All I have to do is peel back the plants and there are about 5 on each flower/leaf chomping away. My neighbor refused to believe me that the rp's were what was causing the problem but then she saw them in action. I would put them in my tank but they gross me out.
