My guys prefer their veggies wilted or starting to go bad. But they also like hermit crab poop so meh.

Re: Adding Isopods to Main Tank
I sell Oak Bark in my store.
My isopods LOVE moss, bark, leaf litter, carrots, apples, and cork bark. (This is in my huge storage tote)
In my crabitats - they eat all of the above including crab poop and my crab food.
Isopods need organic just like crabs. They also need calcium.

Would regular freeze dried shrimp work the same? I hope they find something which they will enjoy. I used to have a food bowl and they used to eat it a long time ago, and now I dont' use a food bowl. WIll the food bowl make a difference?

I don’t think the bowl matters too much, I believe that would be fine. I just think that the red shrimp catches their attention because it’s REALLY smelly.

Re: Adding Isopods to Main Tank
I barely noticed my isopods eating for a long while, but as they multiplied and there were more I began to notice it. They probably are eating, it's just such a little amount it's hard to notice.

Also, I recently put in Zucchini in my isopod tank. I saw one tiny, clear worm on it. Is this a nematode? If so, how can I get rid of them?

Re: Adding Isopods to Main Tank
It's hard to get rid of nematodes. They are everywhere...
Try to be patient.
What is your humidity? They do like things humid - and darkness seems to be popular too. I'm not an isopod expert - but I notice my isopods preferring darkness over light...
