Not moving above ground?

Post by Jemcas29 » Tue Jan 17, 2017 7:09 pm

Hi! Bought 2 new crabs 2.5 weeks ago. One immediately went underground and has been there the entire time. I have read this is normal and may be destressing or molting.

But, the other one has been hiding in one of the caves and hasn't moved in 2 weeks. I see her shell but she hasnt poked her head out or walked out in 2 weeks. Is that normal??

Hello! Hermit crabs are nocturnal. Is it possible that she is coming out at night and you aren't aware?
Could you please fill this out so that we can help you further to make sure your conditions are correct? Thanks!

Does your crabitat have a smell? if you flatten the sand around the cave, do you notice crab tracks?
