Baby Hermy....

Post by LindaLou » Sat Jul 10, 2021 3:56 pm

OK so we went to Myrtle Beach and found a sponge and a few other things washed up on the beach. We got a bucket of ocean water and put them in it. We'll during our 7.5 hr drive back home I was looking in the bucket and noticed a small shell moving around on some of the twigs. I took a closer look and it is a baby hermit crab. What do I do? I have 2 PP's at home and I rescued 2 more while in Myrtle Beach. I need advice on how to keep the baby transparent crab alive! All advice is welcome and appreciated!!!

Hello. What you have are marine hermit crabs. You need to find someone that has a saltwater fishtank to give them to. They can temporarily live out of water, but not for long. Best wishes.
Truly blessed to have incredible creatures, wonderful friends and my amazing family in my life!! I'm very thankful & grateful for all of them! www.thehealthyhermit.com

I can't figure out how to post a picture or I would. It's super cute! Does anyone know what to feed a marine hermit crab?

The marine hermit crab will not survive in the same conditions as the land hermit crabs. You need to find someone with a large saltwater aquarium right away, or it will die. :(
