Haven't seen my hermit crabs in a while.

Post by KraigandStoney » Wed Nov 08, 2023 6:52 pm

Hello,
I have had my hermit crabs for a little over a year, they both have molted once before and I like to think I take good care of them. I usually check on my hermit crabs every night when I hear them moving around, but I recently stopped hearing anything and when I check they are nowhere to be seen.
I have found Stoney and she seems to be find, but I have not seen my other crab, Kraig, anywhere.
I just need reassurance because I honestly think he is okay, I just get worried about them.

On another note, I recently found a spider in my tank. I have a huge fear of spiders and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to get ride of spiders and prevent them from getting back in.

Thank you!

A spider isn't going to harm your crabs, so I wouldn't worry about that at all.

Crabs go underground to molt, the de-stress, or just for the heck of it. If your crab is molting, it could be down for weeks or even months. Don't go digging or looking for it, just let it do it's thing under there.
