Crab fell twice and walled himself in hut
I have a very active hermit crab who loves to climb around on my dresser when I’m in the room and sometimes climbs up my shoulders. His name is Cliffy because he tends to be clumsy and fall. He fell off my shoulder today and bounced right back, but then he knocked himself down again and has now crawled into his hut and built a sand wall in the doorway. I can still see in but he’s never done this. Is he ok???

Sounds like he may have buried himself, thats what they do to de-stress. The wall in the doorway sounds like the aftermath pile of sand when they dig. Lets see what someone else has to say since I'm still learning. But I'm sure he is fine, they fall all the time in the wild!

A fall from your shoulder onto the floor is a pretty far distance. However, there is no way to know if your crab suffered internal injuries, since we can't run diagnostics on our crabs. All you can do is wait and see if he will be okay. Don't try to dig him up if he has buried himself under the sand.
