Im shopping for a new tank as my current 5.5 one is too small ( Yes im aware its very small its all i could afford on my budget at the time ) But ive been looking not only to upgrade my take with new items but also get more crabs! but my tank is too small to have more than one crab in it safely. So cause i have been wanting to get one more crab i was planning on getting a 20 gallon tank so they both have enough space and i can have enough space to add plenty of stuff for them! But i dint know what tank i should get. Because i have some preferences, so i need some help on finding suitable tanks that fit the criteria ive selected.
In terms of criteria
I want a tank thats large enough l/w wise to fit many different decorations and activities on the ground
But also i want one thats tall enough to fit vertical things like climbers , hanging houses , driftwood , tall decor , platforms, and so i can have a decent layer thickness of substrait.
The problem arises with the fact i dont want a tank with an open front im too afraid i will leave the front door open and they will escape!
I just cant find a tank that works for me and im new at hermit crab care. so i dont know where too look! please help me out here everyone!
Update : i just made my account today i didnt know where to post this sorry if its in the wrong topic!

Re: Im shopping for a new tank!
Hi there!
I'd recommend a 29 gal for you. A 20 gal long is 30"x12"x12" (LxWxH). That gives you more floor space than a 20 gal high would. However, the Long tank is a bit short imo (I used to have one) if you want to have climbing decor/space. A 29 gal is the exact same floor space as a 20 gal long, but 6" taller: 30"x12"x18". I have a 29 gal as my iso tank and I like it a lot more than the 20 gal Long I had. Hope this helps!
