So a hurricane is about to hit my island so I had to quickly move out with my tank and they were under, now that I'm home, should I dig them out or the sand above them or should I wait patiently? Thetunnels must have collapsed
If you can, a quick reply would be appreciated

Try to wait it out. It's possible that they weren't molting yet. Give it some time. It is always better not to dig. What if you uncover one that is in the process of molting? Just let them do their thing.

I read this one too late and I've dug around them, not pulled them out, but I have good news!
My first is perfectly fine, he was really stuck thou so I'm glad I took him out, my second was actually molting, I didn't touch him I just noticed he was white and I a cut bottle and placed it over him as he finishes, he still has pieces of exo skeleton around him to eat.
I've been checking on him and he's moving just fine, so I'm thankful the trip and I didn't hurt them.
My question now is, when is it safe to let my molter roam free, meaning take off the cut bottle of water?
I'm still a beginner so I'm very jumpy and anxious about doing the right thing for them. Hopefully my trying to do good won't have the opposite effect.

You'll know when he's ready! Most of his exo will be gone and he'll be really, really active. Like he's trying to escape from prison lol.

Did you use a water bottle or a 2 litre bottle? You'll want it big enough where he can move around in... Does it go down to bottom of tank so that the other can't tunnel to him? Did you remove the top for air flow?

I did none of those *sweats* I was so panicked I did the quick rip apart of a water bottle and gently put it over him.
My tank can't fit a litter but I'll cut the top of the water bottle and push it down deeper, though my other doesn't seem interested in him at all, he's enjoying a grape on the other side of the tank
