Hey I'm new.
Have no crabs yet.
Have an aquarium to set up and unsure of BASIC set up. So what is a good start? If y'all can respond with what they need to get along, how many I need, and I saw that substrate was required but unsure of what to get.
All help is wanted if it's not overwhelming. I just don't want to get a pet and kill it.
I'd love to adopt.
I am responsible.
I have a great dog she's about 14 and in perfect health other than weighing too much
So....

If y'all can simplify Hermie care that'd be great.

Pretty much everything you need to know can be found in the care sheets. PP's are the most common type of crabs.

For substrate, most of us use a 5:1 mixture of playsand and Eco Earth (coconut fiber). Don’t stress too much about the exact ratio, though. Five-to-one is just recommended since it works really well.

The basic hermit crab care sheet is the best starting point. It covers both set-up and daily care needed: http://www.hermitcrabassociation.com/ph ... 0&t=119273
