HCA: Hermit Crab Association

My hermit crab seems like he wants to change shells but doesn’t like any ive been getting, his shell opening now is about 1.5 inches what size shell should I get and does anyone have recommendations of where to get them?

Once my Beau got that big, I went up shell sizes by 1/4". He's currently in a 1.25" opening shell, so I bought him 3 shells with 1.5" openings for when he grows. He still looks/seems pretty comfortable in what he has now though. I got them on Etsy, and they are really nice and a great price. If you search for hermit crab shells on Etsy, you can look around until you can find someone with shells that have 1.75" openings. If you're worried that might be too big, you can try 1 5/8" openings (slightly smaller). Naples Shells also tends to have a good selection of shells too. They were out of stock of 1.5" at the time, that's why I ended up on Etsy. Good luck!

She currently has 1 5/8" and 1 3/4" openings available in this shell. I ordered my big shells from her and they were really nice.
