Hi all! Do you boil your new shells when you get them? Freshwater or saltwater? With prime I assume?

Yes, boiling is recommended to remove potential contaminants inside the shell and to sterilise them. Prime isn't really *needed* as heat tends to break apart chlorine bonds and the like. I don't prime, never had issues.
Some like to use salt, others like to use freshwater. I just use freshwater, as salt spray can get everywhere.

Yep, boil new shells for 10 minutes and let cool.

I didnt know about boiling my shells at first, so my first few were not boiled, I only had washed them by hand and rinsed. Didnt seem to do any harm, thankfully, but ever since I found out I boil them in a glass pot, which, if you don't have on hand was really hard to find!
