New Crabitat/One still moulting

Post by Jtdlmc » Sun Oct 25, 2020 12:26 pm

I have 2 crabs, one I have had for 7-8 years and the other is new. About a week after I got the new one it went to moult and two weeks later my big one went down. Six weeks passed and the little guy came up but biggie is still down. In the meantime I got a new 20 gallon tank to rehouse them. Should I go ahead and put the one who is up in the new tank now or wait until the other comes up so they go in together? Or does it matter either way?

I would say it's up to you. I doubt the new crab would be lonely if you moved him over alone. :) :D

Crabs are notorious for doing their own thing. So by the time the second one comes up, the first one might have gone back down! LOL!
If you have the ability to keep both tanks with ideal conditions, I would move the first one over. Then when the second comes up, give them both a quick dip in the fresh water in the new tank so they both smell the same.
