New to Hermit crabs...

Post by heewhy00 » Sat Apr 17, 2021 9:10 pm

Hello, I'm about to adopt hermit crabs.
I want to buy sand but wasn't sure if I can use this product.

[CARIB SEA SUPERNATURALS SUNSET GOLD SAND]
https://tailsandscales.ca/products/cari ... 2b1d&_ss=r

or

[NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Play Sand with Castle Molds and Tray - 2 LBS (Natural) - A Kinetic Sensory Activity]
https://www.amazon.ca/NATIONAL-GEOGRAPH ... 80&sr=8-10

...Planning to mix with coconut fiber and Tropicoco Husk.
Let me know which one will be better or if please let me know if there's any better option!!! Thank you!!!

Hi there!

Not sure about the ones you mentioned, but a good and cheap option is play sand from a hardware store. You can get a 50 lb bag for under $5. This is what I use:

Make sure to check out the basic care sheet if you haven't yet. There's lots of good info in there to get you started!

That looks good! Sorry, didn't realize you were in Canada when I posted the sand link.

This looks good too since it's washed and says it's good for sand boxes. There's just more of it. I think you could go with either brand, just depends on how much you need.
Ask as many questions as you need to. That's what we're here for. ImageImage
