HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Hello, I have a hermit crab that passed away pretty recently, but I've been hesitant to remove him as I have never had a hermit crab pass before. I know for beta fish it is common to flush them down the toilet, I'm guessing for hermit crabs people don't do that because they would be too big and would clog up the drains.. so I am wondering what people do with their crab when it dies? Do people just throw them away? That seems like the obvious answer, but it almost feels wrong to throw away a beloved pet's body in the trash with a bunch of other junk. I'm wondering what people who have more experience with coming to terms and handling a crab's passing do?

Please never flush an animal down the toilet. It can contaminate the water supply.
I've heard some people bury their fish or hermits in a flower pot, and then plant a flower. I put my little critters in a bag and then in a container and bury them in the yard.

Thank you for the response! I've never heard about the flower pot idea that you mentioned before, but that sounds like a great idea so thanks for suggesting that!

I'll probably be making my way to the store soon then to buy some seeds so I can try that!
