Good heater brand!

Hello,
I have a tank that is 30(L)x12(W)x18(H) and the current heater I have is 8.5x18.5in and I use a thermostat controller. It is located on the back of my tank centered and 4 inches above the substrate. The controller is set to 80. On my temperature and humidity monitor the temp shows 74-80. Does anyone recommend a good brand heater?

Ultratherm is the most recommended, it's only available online but can be safely insulated overtop for a heat boost. You can also get a long and wider pad from them which will produce more heat.

I use flukers brand myself, they can also be insulated but they don't have nearly as many sizes available.

I would suggest running your pad without the controller to see if it gets any warmer, just in case. Thermostats can sometimes not work properly and you'd know in a day or two if that is causing the problem. If it doesn't make any difference then you'll know for sure that the UTH just isn't keeping up.

I had an issue where my thermostat was bad but the uth was good. I got my thermostat from Amazon, but it was way past the return window. I contacted the company directly and they sent me a new one out right away. Then they contacted me and said they thought it was taking too long for the thermo to reach me and sent me another one (I didn't think so but they sent it out already). I ended up getting two new thermos. The company just told me to keep both.
