HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Hey! So if you've seen my previous Topics you know that Moe (my oldest male crab) is molting for the first time in my care, and this is also my first time dealing with a molting crab,
so it's new for both of us!

I currently have them in a rubber-maid tote (it was supposed to be temporary) and I want to move them into my main tank, but the problem is obviously that Moe is molting, my question is:

Can I move the others without Moe?
As in, move my other two crabs into the new crabitat and then when he's done molting, move him as well? If so, what do I need to leave for Moe? Just the sand, and food and water in case he comes up, or do I need to keep everything (hides, trees, climbing wall) with Moe?

(I only have a limited amount of supplies so everything I have (except food and water) is already with Moe/in the tote)

Yep, exactly as you described! Move everyone else over now, then the molter when he comes up.
And you can move all the decor, but if anything is stuck down into the sub, you won't want to pull it out while someone is underground.

Just cleaned out my 18 gal so I can transfer everything! Using a custom cut plexiglass piece for a lid! I don't have to drill holes in it right? I open the tank pretty much daily to replace food and water or to handle them, is that enough airflow or do I need to drill holes?

Either way is fine. Many of us long term crabbers do have some ventilation/ air flow in our tanks. But many people seal up the tanks too. If you are in and out of the tank daily, they will get enough air flow that way. But there is nothing wrong with having a bit of ventilation if you want. The danger of having too much air flow is that humidity will decrease. The danger of having not enough air flow is an increase risk of anaerobic bacteria growing in the lower levels of the sub (known as a bacterial bloom), especially if you have really deep sub.
