HCA: Hermit Crab Association

Hi,
I have a question about tank placement. I just moved into a somewhat spacious apartment. My hermit crab (and betta fish tank) are placed against the only available wall in the living room. However, this happens to be where the heating baseboard is. Their tanks are elevated on tables. Is this any okay place to situate my pets? I don’t know…because we’ve been in spring and summer and I haven’t used the heat yet.

It’s a rather large wall, if that helps. I tried inserting a photo but I can’t.

Does the baseboard heater run the whole length of the wall? Or can you have the tank situated where there is no heater?

Yes, it runs the length of almost the whole wall. She is currently sitting in the tiny section where there is no baseboard. Right before where it begins.

If the tank is where there is no baseboard heater, I'm sure it will be fine.
If you need to put it where the heater is, I would keep a very close eye on the temp in the tank when the heat comes on. Ideally, if you could watch for an entire weekend (for example) so you could monitor it through a few cycles of the heat kicking on and off.
You could also insulate the tank really well, to prevent the external heat from affecting the temp inside the tank.
