temperature & water pools

Post by hermits are cool » Fri Nov 17, 2023 2:29 pm

i am getting PPs and i have 2 questions:

1. what is their temperature range? a forum here said 69-89 degrees some other stuff on the internet said 75-85 and i am confused! my tank is 80 degrees

2. do i have to re-prime my water pools? i keep my freshwater and saltwater in 1/2 gallon jugs and will replace the water in my pools every 48 hours. do i have to ever put more prime in my jugs to keep them dechlorinated?

I am looking forward to getting hermit crabs!

You will find conflicting info on crabs if you look at enough sites/ groups LOL. When I got my crabs, I decided to just stick with one source for information - and 13+ years later my crabs are doing well with just HCA advice.

As for your first question, have you looked at our 'basics' care sheet? It gives all the info you need:

As for your second question, the re-treating of water does not apply to crabs. It is just if using the dechlorinator in a fish tank.
