I have 2 medium to large C clypeatus and 6-8 (who knows, they bury and I lose track but I have had no indication of any deaths whatsoever. I saw 5 yesterday) of what I believe to be c rugosus, small ones, photos attached of 2 individuals, please correct species if I’m wrong. Will these live together well? I read that large and small hermit crabs are happy together as well as mix in species but I’d like to ask here also, thank you!

Hermit crabs of all different sizes get along perfectly. I have one that's in about a 3 inch shell and it gets along fine with one in about a 3/4 inch shell. So you should be fine!

Yes! You've got Ruggies.
They should be okay together, but I will say I house my Rug separately from my other crabs and she's going strong at more than 7 years now. Most exotics live for 2 to 4 years in captivity and I have to wonder if it's because of the way they interact with other species. Purple pinchers are known to be moles when it's time to molt, and I remember those who used to have Rugs complained about how they tended to molt shallower.
