If your tank is not overcrowded, and you have adequately deep substrate, you should trust that all is good underground. Crabs can do back to back molts. Or they can just be down there hanging out. If you dig, you risk harming both this crab as well as any others who are underground.

Hi,
It's not uncommon for hermit crabs to stay underground for extended periods after molting. They may be resting or undergoing a post-molt recovery phase. Keep an eye on the tank conditions, ensure there's a proper hiding spot, and provide a variety of food. If you're concerned, you can gently dig around the area without disturbing them too much. If they've molted recently, they might just need more time. Patience is key.
Best of luck!

No, don't dig around for them.
