HCA: Hermit Crab Association

I got some plants and they have a smell (fake plants) and I’ve cleaned them bust they still have a plastic smell, is it safe?

Yeah, it should be. It's always made me feel uncomfortable since the crabs are stuck in the tank with it, but it can take months to years for the smell to completely go away so there's not much of an option. If the plants are cleaned and kept away from heat it should be alright, mine have never showed issues longterm at least. (I'm sure there are issues with the chemicals in plastics but it's not like we're trying for reproduction in the crabs, and captivity had it's own separate risks, and theres already so much plastic in use already whats a little more?)
