HCA: Hermit Crab Association

My. Hermit crab keeps climbing on its roof and I don’t know what do to about it anymore, is it safe or should I get him Down?

Hermit crabs are climbers so they’ll scamper up anything they can get a grip on. Not sure there’s anything you can do to prevent it but it’s not going to fall and hurt itself

Oh thanks, I was mostly worried about him getting down

Same way he got up. For some crabs I’ve also removed myself by gently unhooking each leg

I hear the "clink clink" of crab shells against glass most every night. They are either falling from the tops of the tank or shoving extra shells around and hitting the glass. So far everyone has been ok lol. They are tough little critters. Sometimes they are so loud they scare my dog that likes to sleep in the hall next to their room!

They're pretty hardy little guys! One of my big guys decided the air bubbler what a fun climbing rope, and pulled it straight out from the wall haha. But they're shells will protect them from the fall, if they do
