How Often To Change Dishes

Post by ChonkyCrabsLover » Mon Aug 19, 2024 2:24 pm

Hello! I am wondering how often I should change my crabs dishes. I change their food dish daily because it has fresh food from Just2OldCrabs. My water dishes I change every two days though. I got my water dishes by using the containers that you put in school lunch boxes. It is a 5x10in dish that is 1.5in deep (so they can fully submerge) with a divider in between to separate salt and fresh water. They have a way to climb out of course. The reason I clean it every two days is because it is a pain to clean. I also only clean it every two days because I only have two PPs. I can barely even tell that they used it. Some dishes can get gross but mine usually stays clean after two days. I know every website says daily, but is it ok to just change it every other day? How often do you change dishes for your crabs?

Isn't food from 2 Old Crabs, dried food? I leave foods in the tank until they are fuzzy with mold LOL. Fresh foods only last a day or two, but dried food can last up to a week!

I think HCA care sheets say to change water twice a week, but I have only ever changed it once a week.

Oh! LOL! That is probably why I go through their food so fast! Thank you!
