Crab shells

Do crabs molt and return to their old shell? I have a crab who is 5 years old but wont leave his shell. I hope Horny Mike isnt stuck!
Crabs don't leave their shells to molt. They don't always change shells after they molt either. Some crabs are just really stubborn and don't like to change pants. Are you offering the right type of shells? Purple Pinchers prefer shells with round openings, like turbos. Make sure to offer shells with a slightly larger opening size than what he's in now.
