Seachem Prime dosage

Post by happyhermies33 » Wed Dec 04, 2024 11:08 pm

I know this might be a silly question, but i’ve been using 2 jugs to prepare and store my water. i use instant ocean (1/2 cup mixed with 1 gallon jug of tap water) for the salt pool and regular tap water for my freshwater pool, and i have been using 2 drops of seachem prime in both jugs and using them for water changes and refill the jugs when they run out. I saw someone saying you shouldn’t treat the jugs with prime and store them but instead you should use 1 drop prime directly in your pools when cleaning/changing them. is this true? and if so why? does priming the whole jug of water and storing it and using the jug for refills cause the prime to wear off because it sits for awhile before refilling and re-priming? thanks!:)

Personally, I just add a few drops of the prime when I change out the water bowls. I don't think that the prime would wear off, however I feel like the water might get sour/ old from sitting for so long and the crabs might not like it. Just my personal thoughts. :)
I love my two cool crabs Zote and Fizban.
And my cats Echo and Smudge.

It is absolutely fine to treat it ahead and store it.
