Freeze dried "raw" sea animals?

Post by Alexisr.17 » Wed Feb 19, 2025 11:19 pm

Hello! I recently have been trying to expand the meats I'm giving my hermit crabs, and have found a specific brand, pure bites that only contains the meat. They're meant cats as treats. I also have Freeze dried shrimp, plankton, etc..., but should i cook it in the oven to make sure it doesn't possibly have any potential to give shell rot to my hermies? I only asked because I've looked it up and Freeze drying preserves the bacteria, and I worry for the little critters!
Thank you!

You can feed freeze dried meats to your crabs with no additional preparation/ cooking/ etc.

Curly:
They're sort of flexible, but they're mostly dried out and not crunchy (not sure how else to describe freeze dried animals) their organs are all on one side, it's the same for the dried meal worms I have thay you would feed to chickens. They are sort of a light reddish brown orange ish (sorry for the horrible description!)
