Could use a little advice on Salt Water :)

Post by DarthKrab » Mon Aug 22, 2016 12:28 pm

So, I recently ran out of salt water. Is it okay for my little buddies to go a day or two without it so I can figure a couple things out before replenishing it? They have a freshwater pool still.

My only reasoning for the short drought of salt water is that I wanted to ask all of you what salt water you may use and why you like to use it. The stuff I had, which might have been from All Living Things, was a simple additive that you mixed so much of with water but I'm not sure how I feel about that. Especially after finding that most, if not all, of the stuff I bought from that company turned out to be a health hazard to hermies. I would rather buy pre-mixed or even natural salt water as long as it is harmless to my lil guys.

Is it okay for my liil guys to not have salt water for a day or two?

More importantly, what salt water brands do you use and why would you recommend it? I should really refill that pool soon!

Yes. They will be okay for a day or two.

Instant Ocean or Oceanic.
Instant Ocean comes in a white and purple box.

Marine grade saltwater mix for setting up saltwater aquariums.

Not freshwater aquarium salt. (API in a white carton)

I use instant ocean. I make sure I dechlorinate my water before I add the salt...
