How slanted can the craftmesh of water pools be? Mines currently close to vertical to ensure theres enough space to filly submerge...

They won't have any issues climbing up the mesh no matter how you put it, as long as there is enough to grab onto they'll be fine.

I have my mesh zip tied into each end of the pool and it goes vertically down the side, across the bottom, and up the other side :)

Crabs can climb anyway they want, even upside down. As long as they can grip to get out they won't have any issues. Even if they are clumsy at times.

I have two Ramekin dishes as pools for both fresh water and salt water. I boiled smooth river rocks (To sanitize them) and put them in the dishes just high enough for them to fully submerge themselves and climb out safely. So far it's been working great, and they seem to have no issues climbing in and out of it.
