No.

However be warned that distilled water lacks the trace minerals which many animals have evolved to get from their water. It’s fine for saltwater since the salt replaces them but we don’t know how hermits do drinking it fresh.

Ok, so is it better to be using distilled water for the fresh, or should i use tap water and treat it, and if i treat it how long does it stay treated? As i have read some where that the declorinater will wear off.

Dechlorinated tap water will be better and cheaper in the long run. Seachem Prime will bind to ammonia for only about forty-eight hours, which is probably what you heard.

Tap water usually doesn’t have a lot of ammonia, anyways. Otherwise it remains treated indefinitely.
