Bottom Feeders

Post by Coolkc456 » Fri Jul 05, 2024 1:54 am

Hello, I'm on my quest to create a proper bio-active crabitat. I have experience caring for freshwater and marine aquariums but never in combination with hermit crabs. I would like to have some suggestions on bottom feeders that I can put in the water pools of my future bio-active crabitat.

I thought of mystery snails or ghost shrimp for the freshwater pool and nassarius snails or peppermint shrimp for the saltwater pool. Would the hermit crab snack on them? If so, any alternatives? Thanks for the advice.

Hermit crabs will eat anything they can catch, so shrimp will do better if only because they can usually swim away. Having safe spaces where they can hide will also be helpful
