Water Declor Measurement Help please

Hi everyone I just bought this water conditioner (see below). I got home and noticed the measurements say 5ml for 10 gallons I am only trying to make 1 gallon so I am assuming I would just use x amount of drops? Or should I return this item and look for a different one with the measurments I need? Or is anyone knows how to calculate this into something I can use.

.5 mL is what youd want. IMHO id use Seachem Prime it can be safely overdosed and it would be 1 drop or 1mL per gallon. The small bottle is i believe $4.49 at PetSmart and will last you a lifetime making such small quantities.

I use it for my crabs, freshwater fish tanks, reef tanks, and reptiles

I bought the same kind and have half gallon pools. I premixed a gallon of salt water, but just used a few drops for the fresh water pool.

I have the same kind. I've been adding enough to the cap to just cover the bottom evenly & haven't had any problems yet...but I've also only had crabbies for a week & a half.

You can buy baby syringes anyplace that has a pharmacy that will allow you to measure this out in the correct dose. Most pharmacies will give you feeding tip (needleless) syringe for free if you say you need one to medicate a pet - just ask for a small one.

is this particular one harmful if accidently overdosed?

I have a old eye drop bottle i cleaned out and was using for the previous brand i had will that continue to work fine?

What would .5 ml equate to in drops? or Does the baby syringes have that measurement?

Also my girlfriends mother has well water at her house could I use that and save some money?

Drops are not an even unit of measure as the opening size on the dropper will add or substrate a pretty significant amount, so it will vary a lot. Drops can only be used when the dropper comes on the bottle and there are instructions saying how much to use. The small bottles of dechlor almost always come with droppers.

Yes, both a baby syringe and a small feeding tip syringe will let you measure out 0.5 cc or ml (cc and ml are used interchangeably). That's a half a milliliter, not five of them.

Well water is often high in metals, which can sometimes be harmful. There's no chlorine to worry about, but you should use something that neutralizes heavy metals to be safe.

Considering Seachem Prime is directly stated at safe to use for nitrites in 5x doses.. It makes it much easier to dose using drops. That's another reason I love it. Very safe and detoxifies rather than removes ammonia and nitrite. Also removed chloramines and heavy metals. Which is great. Ive been eyeballing the doses in all of my tanks foe five years. Never had an issue :3 and its so cheap

But yea for other products id be more exact on dosing. Sometimes if you go to a Banfield you can just ask for one of the 1mL syringes for your pet and theyll give you one

Prime has been shown to be safe at up to 100x's the proper dosage - which I found out after calling the company when the dripper on my bottle broke open and half the thing fell in my 20 gallon. I love the stuff. (Still did a major water change to be on the safe side. No distress in the fish!)

is it ok to have the water under the heat light to warm it up?

You shouldnt really need to heat it up. The water will get warm in the tank

If you're having humidity problems or the sub is drying out in that area, then having the water bowl under the heat lamp will help with that. Otherwise, no, you don't have to heat it.

the sub is drying out in that area even with the water dishes under the light, so I am not trying fake vegitation under the light to shade the sub and hopefully it wont dry out so much.
