I agree! I like the one I linked you because it has a glass lid you can put on when working on ramps or something away from the tank. That way they can't get in and not have a way out.

Yes! Those're what i bought! it's a great product, but im kinda bummed about the cycling challenge. My only optimism is that it'll somehow work out because crabs arent as sensitive to fish.
I wonder if i can help stabilize the tank by adding live rock and stuff to the tank, but am still casually researching. Bah well! We shall see!

Is this the one you are planning to use? It has the highest rating. I think it comes in different colors although I am not sure if that is really a great idea. http://t.petco.com/product/7452/Natures ... SiteSearch

I like CaribSea but will pick something coarser like gravel.

Its bad as substrate since it can lodge inside their shells when burrowing. I think its ok underwater, which is just easier to suck up bacteria.
Maybe i can just use a bag of bio filter media

I like the idea of the sand instantly cycling the tank.i think it would be worth it.

I went and priced the stuff I have left that I want to do in the tank. Looking at about $400 more or another $350 on top of it if I go with the lighting I really want instead of the one already included in the price.

Adding a new fw.pool, getting both up.amd going as filtered and cycled, I have an idea in my head for take a small but deep Tupperware bowl and wrapping it in the climbing background and lose EE with silicon so it ends up looking like a.basket and drilling 3 holes on it. In those holes I am going to attach a key ring metal piece and then link another to it. Then loop a vine through and wind it upwards to a center ring and bang it. I was to use it as a moss pit. I want to add more greenery with bright tropical appearing flowers . I want to wrap my pool ramp in embroidery canvas so the hinge at the top is covered. I will have to make a second ramp. The argonite, water testing kits for both kinds of water. Either redo or camouflage my shell shop.

Oh and some way to block the air vent corners so they can't escape but still get the ventilation in order for me to not have to use the screen.
