All species require salt water.

I use the Instant Ocean stuff, it's not only the sea salt I think, but also the other trace elements like the minerals which also help as well.

Several brands of salt water mix contain that, which is why it is recommended over the hermit crab stuff, although I wouldnt doubt that it is probably something like repackaged IO....

Ocean water is not just salty water, there are about 70 trace elements in natural salt water if I remember right, and this is stuff that really helps out.
