Is pure sea salt that is used for cooking ok to use for drinking water and making substrate? Its San Francisco bay brands, contains sea salt & calcium silicate. I also have some pink Himalayan sea salt with no additives.

Ok, I'll get some marine salt. I'm setting up my tank today though and I can't get the right kind of salt, should I just use fresh water to wet the sand or regular aquarium salt? I live in a small town and the pet store has a very limited selection of supplies.

I only wet mine with fresh. I don't want to risk the salt buildup if I ever need to spray for mold or pests with salt water.
